Microplitis marshalli is a species of parasitic wasp belonging to the family Braconidae, within the order Hymenoptera. As a specialized parasitoid, it acts as a natural biological control agent, significantly contributing to the reduction of pest populations that threaten various agricultural crops across global farming regions.

These insects are highly adapted to locate and infest larval stages of various lepidopteran pests, primarily those belonging to the Noctuidae family, which are notorious for causing heavy foliage damage to vegetables, grains, and broad-leaved field crops.
