Hagfish (Latin: Myxine) are a genus of jawless marine vertebrates belonging to the class Myxini. It is crucial for agronomists and farmers to note that these creatures are not agricultural pests. Systematically, hagfish are classified under the phylum Chordata. They are bottom-dwelling scavengers that feed on deceased or weakened marine life.
