Neomyzus is a genus of insects within the family Aphididae (true aphids), belonging to the order Hemiptera. These small sap-sucking insects are recognized for their ability to rapidly colonize various cultural and ornamental plants, posing a significant challenge to both commercial agriculture and indoor horticulture.

The pest is characterized by its wide polyphagy. It frequently infests a variety of greenhouse plants, potatoes, field vegetable crops, and ornamental species such as cyclamens, fuchsias, and ferns. As they feed, these aphids excrete honeydew, which serves as a medium for the growth of sooty mold, significantly hindering the plant's photosynthetic process. Furthermore, Neomyzus species act as efficient vectors for several harmful plant viruses, further reducing crop vitality.
