Neoseiulus longispinosus is a predatory mite belonging to the family Phytoseiidae (order Mesostigmata). Within the agricultural industry, it is widely recognized as a highly effective biological control agent used to manage populations of tetranychid mites, commonly known as spider mites, which can devastate various vegetable and ornamental crops.

This mite targets various life stages of spider mites, including eggs, larvae, and adults. It does not cause damage to plants; rather, it prevents the severe chlorosis and leaf drop typically caused by heavy spider mite infestations. The mite actively patrols leaves, seeking out prey, and utilizes its specialized mouthparts to pierce and consume the contents of the spider mites, effectively suppressing their growth.
