Description

The Lined grain moth (Oligia fractilinea) is an insect species belonging to the family Noctuidae, order Lepidoptera. It is recognized as a significant agricultural pest, specifically known for its tendency to infest corn crops and various other members of the grass family, leading to economic losses in infested fields.

The primary crop damaged by this pest is corn. Larvae specifically target the base of the young corn stalk. By boring into the plant tissue, they can severely compromise the plant's health at an early stage, which often results in the wilting and eventual death of the affected maize plant.
