Description

The rufous grasshopper (Latin: Omocestus haemorrhoidalis) is a member of the order Orthoptera and belongs to the Acrididae family. It is widely distributed across temperate regions, primarily inhabiting dry grasslands, pastures, and agricultural fields where it feeds on various plant species.

This insect is considered a significant pest to agriculture, specifically targeting cereal crops, grasses, and fodder plants.
