Description
Omotoma is a genus of insects belonging to the order Coleoptera and the family Chrysomelidae. These beetles are recognized as significant plant pests, primarily known for their ability to feed on the foliage of various crops, thereby impacting agricultural output and plant health in affected areas.
These insects are particularly associated with leguminous plants and several other agricultural crops. The adults and larvae of the genus are specialized feeders that cause defoliation, which negatively impacts the physiological development of the host plant throughout the growing season.
