Known commonly as flesh flies, these insects are characterized by their distinct gray appearance, often featuring a checkered pattern on the abdomen and significant body setation, which distinguishes them from typical house flies.

Biology and lifecycle. The lifecycle of Paarasarcophaga jaipurensis includes egg, larval, pupal, and adult stages. A key biological trait of this species is larviposition, where the female deposits active larvae directly onto a suitable substrate rather than laying eggs. The larval development is remarkably rapid, allowing the population to thrive in decomposing organic matter.
