The Aesop shrimp (Pandalus montagui) belongs to the family Pandalidae, within the order Decapoda. This marine crustacean is native to the cold northern Atlantic waters, frequently inhabiting sandy or muddy bottoms where it plays a role in the local benthic ecosystem.
