Elphenor swallowtail

The Elphenor swallowtail (Papilio elphenor) belongs to the order Lepidoptera and the family Papilionidae. While recognized primarily for its beauty, in its larval stage, this insect can act as a phytophagous pest, consuming the foliage of specific plants within its native geographical range in Asia.

The species targets various host plants, typically those adapted to tropical and subtropical ecosystems. The larvae feed on the leaves, which serve as their primary nutrient source.
