Paraamblyseius gloreus belongs to the family Phytoseiidae within the order Mesostigmata. While many members of this family are recognized as beneficial predators, this specific species requires careful monitoring due to its interactions with agricultural crops. These microscopic mites primarily inhabit the leaf surface and sheltered areas of the foliage, where they can thrive in stable environmental conditions.

The pest primarily affects ornamental plants and certain greenhouse vegetables. By colonizing the leaves, these mites establish feeding sites that can negatively impact the plant's structural integrity. Even though they may be associated with other micro-fauna, their presence in high numbers is generally considered detrimental to plant health and development.

The life cycle consists of several stages: egg, larva, protonymph, deutonymph, and adult. The developmental rate is highly sensitive to ambient temperature and relative humidity. Severe infestations often lead to premature leaf drop and a significant decline in the overall vigor and aesthetic quality of the crop.
