Paradisaea (Paradisaea) is a genus of insects within the order Lepidoptera, belonging to the family Erebidae. In agricultural and forestry contexts, this organism is identified as a phytophagous pest whose larvae cause significant damage to the foliage of host plants, necessitating active monitoring and management programs.
The primary hosts for Paradisaea are ornamental shrubs and certain types of deciduous trees. The pest is particularly problematic in nursery settings where young saplings are vulnerable. Severe feeding by larvae leads to reduced photosynthetic capacity, stunted growth, and an increased susceptibility to secondary environmental stressors.
