Affected crops: This pest primarily targets members of the Brassicaceae family. Major economic hosts include various types of cabbage, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, oilseed rape, swedes, turnips, and radishes, often causing substantial damage in both commercial farms and home gardens.

Biology and lifecycle: Adult flies lay eggs into the leaf epidermis. Upon hatching, larvae begin mining between the upper and lower leaf surfaces, consuming the parenchyma cells.
