The mite passes through egg, larval, protonymph, deutonymph, and adult stages. Under warm and humid conditions, the generation time is significantly shortened, enabling the population to reach damaging levels within a relatively short period during the growing season.

By feeding on plant juices, the mite induces stress in the plant, manifesting as chlorosis, necrotic spots, and reduced photosynthetic efficiency.
