This insect is primarily recognized in agricultural entomology as an effective natural enemy, playing a vital role in the biological suppression of various lepidopteran pest populations that threaten fruit crops and nursery stocks.

The insect targets specific stages of pests, often parasitizing larvae and pupae concealed within protective cocoons or leaf structures. By focusing on the developmental stages of pests, Pteromalus caridei acts as a highly efficient biocontrol agent, significantly reducing the survival rate of target pests in infested orchard environments.
