Systematic position: Rastrococcus rubellus belongs to the order Hemiptera and the family Pseudococcidae (mealybugs). It is recognized as a significant agricultural pest that presents a challenge to fruit production in tropical and subtropical regions worldwide.

Biology and life cycle: The life cycle of Rastrococcus rubellus consists of eggs, nymphal stages, and adults.
