Description
Rhinocloa is a genus of insects belonging to the order Hemiptera and the family Miridae. These small phytophagous insects are often overlooked in the early stages of infestation, yet they are capable of causing significant economic damage to agricultural systems when their population reaches critical levels.
This pest primarily attacks cereal crops, including wheat, barley, and various wild grasses. The insects feed on plant sap by piercing the epidermis of leaves and stems with their piercing-sucking mouthparts, which disrupts vital physiological processes within the plant tissues.
