It is recognized as a specific pest that primarily affects plants within the Rosaceae family, causing visible damage to foliage in various agricultural settings.

The primary host plants for this pest include cultivated raspberries and blackberries. The larvae are leaf-feeders, meaning they concentrate their activity on the soft tissues of the leaves. Under favorable climatic conditions, the population density can increase rapidly, posing a threat to the overall vitality of the berry bushes.

The life cycle of the moth typically involves several generations per year, depending on the geographic region. Adults emerge to lay eggs on the leaves, and the larvae go through several developmental stages (instars) before pupating.
