This pest primarily targets plants within the Rosaceae family. It is most frequently identified as a nuisance in raspberry and blackberry plantations. However, in environments with abundant vegetation, its range of host plants may expand to include various other woody ornamentals and wild shrubs common in temperate regions.

Biology and life cycle
The life cycle of Singapora shinshana includes the egg, nymphal stages, and adult phase. The insect undergoes incomplete metamorphosis. Overwintering typically occurs in the egg stage, deposited within the plant tissue. Throughout the growing season, multiple generations may occur, with population peaks usually observed during the warmer summer months.
