Sisyropa (Sisyropa heterusiae) is a significant representative of the Tachinidae family, belonging to the order Diptera. While primarily known for its parasitic behavior, it is studied in agricultural settings due to its complex interactions with the pest complexes of industrial tea plantations, where it acts as a parasitoid of specific lepidopteran larvae.

The primary host for Sisyropa heterusiae is the larvae of the tea moth Heterusia magnifica. By infesting these caterpillars, the tachinid fly plays a dual role in the ecosystem, acting as a natural regulator that can suppress pest outbreaks, yet potentially complicating the integrated pest management strategies if the population levels become irregular.

The life cycle of the species is characterized by high adaptability. Adult flies locate host larvae and deposit eggs on their surface or on the host's food source.
