The host range of Spaelotis is extensive, encompassing major crops such as cereals, sugar beets, potatoes, and sunflowers. Their larvae are opportunistic feeders, capable of consuming significant portions of leaf tissue or severing young stems at the base, which often results in the complete loss of seedlings in the field.
