Sphaerius acaroides is a minute beetle species within the family Sphaeriusidae, order Coleoptera. These insects are among the smallest beetles in the world, typically measuring less than one millimeter in length. The biology of this species is highly dependent on moisture levels. They thrive in damp substrates where they graze on algae, fungal spores, and decaying matter.
