The primary host plant for this species is the water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes), though it can feed on other aquatic plants as well. The life cycle of this moth follows a complete metamorphosis: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. Eggs are typically deposited on the leaves of host plants.
