Taxonomic position. The Peruvian moth (Spodoptera peruviana) belongs to the order Lepidoptera and the family Noctuidae. As a member of the genus Spodoptera, this species is recognized as a significant agricultural pest. These insects are known for their high adaptability and reproductive potential, which allow them to cause widespread damage to crops across various climatic zones.
Host plants. The species is highly polyphagous, meaning it feeds on a wide range of botanical hosts. Primary crops at risk include tomatoes, peppers, corn, soybeans, and potatoes. Control measures. Managing the Peruvian moth requires an integrated pest management (IPM) strategy that focuses on prevention and timely intervention:

- Implementing cultural practices such as deep tillage to disrupt pupal development in the soil.
