The yellow-legged weevil (Squamapion flavimanum) is a small beetle belonging to the Brentidae family. As a specialized phytophage, it focuses its life cycle on legume hosts. Within the agricultural landscape, this insect is recognized as a pest capable of causing direct damage to seeds and floral structures, leading to a noticeable decrease in harvest quantity and quality.

Systematically, this species is part of the Coleoptera order. It shares typical physical characteristics with other weevils, such as a well-defined rostrum and distinctive coloration of the legs. This physiological stress on the plant, combined with direct loss of the reproductive yield, necessitates active intervention strategies if the pest population exceeds the economic threshold established for the specific crop variety.
