Fischer's grasshopper (Latin: Stenobothrus fischeri) is an insect species belonging to the order Orthoptera and the family Acrididae. This grasshopper is commonly found in grasslands and agricultural areas, where its feeding habits can negatively impact plant health and economic yields.

The pest primarily targets cereal crops, such as wheat, barley, rye, and various types of oats. In addition to cultivated grains, it is frequently observed feeding on wild grasses, meadows, and pastures, which can significantly reduce forage quality for livestock production in affected regions.

The biology of this species follows a hemimetabolous development cycle. The insects overwinter as eggs, deposited in soil capsules known as egg pods, which protect them from freezing temperatures.
