The pest primarily targets graminaceous plants, including major commercial cereals like wheat, barley, and various forage grasses. Its feeding activity is particularly destructive to young seedlings, though mature plants also suffer when the pest density reaches outbreak levels, potentially reducing the total forage yield for livestock.
