The African sacred ibis (Threskiornis aethiopicus) is a large wading bird belonging to the Threskiornithidae family within the Pelecaniformes order. While native to sub-Saharan Africa and parts of Iraq, it has become a significant invasive species in various European regions, where it frequently interacts with and causes damage to agricultural operations.
The biology of the sacred ibis is marked by extreme adaptability and opportunistic feeding habits. They are highly efficient at exploiting human-modified landscapes, including farmland.
