Tomaspis guppyi is a species of insect belonging to the family Cercopidae, commonly known as spittlebugs. These insects are classified within the order Hemiptera and are recognized in tropical agronomy as significant pests capable of causing economic damage to commercial crops.

The primary host plant for this pest is sugarcane. Tomaspis guppyi populations thrive in conditions typical of tropical plantations, where they feed on the sap of the plant.
