This insect is primarily recognized in agricultural research as a parasitoid of weevil larvae that infest the seed pods of various Brassicaceae crops, playing a critical role in the natural regulation of pest populations.

The host crops for this species are mainly cruciferous plants, specifically oilseed rape (canola) and mustard grown for seeds. Its presence is closely linked to the availability of its target hosts, typically the cabbage seedpod weevil, which causes significant economic damage to seed production if left unmanaged.
