The primary hosts for Tuberculatus indicus are various species of oak trees. By inhabiting the abaxial (lower) surfaces of leaves, the aphids exert pressure on the plant by consuming essential nutrients, which is particularly detrimental to young trees and those growing under stress in urban or forest environments.

The biological life cycle of this aphid follows a typical pattern for the family, involving both asexual and sexual reproduction stages. After emerging in the spring from overwintered eggs, the population multiplies rapidly through parthenogenesis. By the end of the growing season, sexual morphs appear to mate and lay eggs that will remain dormant throughout the winter.

The damage caused by this pest includes leaf chlorosis, yellowing, and visible distortion. A major secondary effect is the production of honeydew, which serves as a substrate for sooty mold fungi. The black mold layer impairs the tree's photosynthetic efficiency, potentially leading to reduced growth rates and increased susceptibility to other diseases or environmental stressors.

Effective management strategies rely on a combination of biological control and chemical intervention. Promoting a healthy ecosystem with natural predators, such as lady beetles, lacewings, and hoverflies, is often the first line of defense. In high-density settings like tree nurseries, the application of systemic or contact insecticides may be necessary to suppress outbreaks.
