The genus Wuchereria belongs to the phylum Nematoda, class Chromadorea, and family Onchocercidae. It is critical to state from an agronomic perspective that Wuchereria is not a plant pest. They include the control of mosquito populations through environmental management, the use of mosquito nets, chemical vector control in residential areas, and medical treatment of infected populations.
