The primary host for this species is the rowan tree (Sorbus). The aphids are typically found colonizing the underside of young leaves, where they establish large colonies. They are most noticeable during the spring and early summer when the leaves are tender and nutrient-rich.

Biology and life cycle
The life cycle of Yezabura annulata involves overwintering as eggs attached to the bark of host trees. In the spring, stem mothers hatch and begin parthenogenetic reproduction. Throughout the summer, several generations are produced, leading to exponential population growth before the production of sexual forms in the autumn for egg-laying.
