Flocoumafen

Flocoumafen belongs to the coumarin derivative chemical class and is a highly effective second-generation anticoagulant rodenticide. Its primary purpose is to control synanthropic rodents, including brown rats, black rats, and house mice, which cause significant damage to agricultural infrastructure and stored grain reserves.

The mechanism of action involves blocking the synthesis of vitamin K1 in the rodent's body. This leads to impaired blood clotting, causing internal hemorrhaging and inevitable death. A crucial feature is the delayed effect: death occurs several days after consuming the bait, which prevents bait shyness and keeps the rest of the rodent population from becoming suspicious of the toxicant.

The substance is primarily used in agricultural facilities, warehouses, grain storage buildings, and livestock complexes.
