Hickory wattle

Hickory wattle (Acacia implexa) is an evergreen tree or large shrub belonging to the Fabaceae family. Reaching heights of up to 12 meters, this species is recognized for its graceful, weeping habit and dense, dark green foliage. It is highly regarded for its resilience and ability to thrive in a variety of environmental conditions.

Native to Australia, this plant is naturally found across diverse landscapes ranging from coastal forests to arid interior regions. Because of its wide ecological amplitude, the Hickory wattle has been extensively introduced for reforestation projects, slope stabilization, and as an essential component in land rehabilitation programs to combat soil erosion.
