These plants are the result of selective breeding designed to produce a vast array of flower colors and unique growth forms while maintaining the characteristic appearance of a succulent tree with a swollen base known as a caudex.

The wild ancestors of Adenium are native to the arid regions of Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. In cultivation, these hybrids are grown globally in greenhouses and as ornamental houseplants, as they are well-adapted to high-temperature environments and require specific management during their dormant season.

Botanically, the plant is recognized by its succulent stem, which acts as a storage organ for water. The foliage is typically thick and leathery, while the flowers, which are the primary focus of hybrid breeding, can range from simple single blooms to complex, ruffled multi-petal structures in a variety of vibrant colors.

Successful production requires adherence to specific agrotechnical standards:
