Miho Wase is a high-yielding Japanese mandarin variety, resulting from a complex breeding process: ((Citrus unshiu x C. sinensis) x C. unshiu). The crop belongs to the Rutaceae family. This variety represents a group of early-maturing Unshiu-type mandarins, highly valued for their ability to produce quality crops in temperate subtropical climates.
The origin of the variety is linked to Japanese breeding programs aimed at improving sugar content and early fruit ripening. The main cultivation area includes regions with mild winters, such as southern Japan, the Mediterranean coast, and the subtropical zones of the Caucasus.
