Dracaena steudneri

Unlike many other smaller Dracaena varieties, this species grows into a substantial tree in its natural habitat, characterized by a thick, woody stem and a spreading crown that can reach significant heights. The growing medium must be porous, well-draining, and slightly acidic to prevent waterlogging. While it tolerates lower light levels, it grows most vigorously in bright, indirect sunlight. Watering should be deep but infrequent, allowing the top layer of soil to dry out significantly between sessions.

This species is widely valued in horticulture for interior landscaping and conservatory use, particularly as a focal point in large spaces. Regarding plant health, it is important to monitor for common pests such as scale insects, spider mites, and mealybugs.
