Hybrids between Neoregelia concentrica and Neoregelia princeps are decorative ornamental plants belonging to the Bromeliaceae family. These crosses are prized by horticulturists for their robust, tank-forming structure and the vibrant, often metallic or variegated foliage that characterizes the hybrid vigor inherited from both parent species.

Originating from the tropical rainforests of Brazil, these hybrids require specific environmental conditions to thrive. While they are often cultivated as houseplants, they perform best in greenhouses, conservatories, or terrariums where high humidity levels can be maintained consistently throughout the year.

Botanically, these plants are defined by their stiff, serrated leaves arranged in a rosette that forms a natural central cup. This cup is physiologically essential, as the plant absorbs water and nutrients through its foliage rather than relying solely on its restricted root system. The leaf texture is typically leathery, with complex pigmentation patterns that intensify under optimal light conditions.

Cultivation practices focus on providing a loose, well-draining epiphyte-friendly substrate, such as orchid bark mixed with perlite or peat moss. Irrigation must be managed carefully: water should be poured into the central tank, but it must be replaced periodically to prevent stagnation. The plants thrive in bright, indirect light; direct exposure to midday sun can cause severe tissue necrosis and sunburn.
