Cape Cheesewood (Pittosporum viridiflorum) is a robust evergreen tree or large shrub that belongs to the Pittosporaceae family. It is widely recognized for its dense, glossy foliage and its fragrant flowers, which make it a highly desirable candidate for ornamental horticulture in temperate and subtropical climates.

Native to Southern and Eastern Africa, this species exhibits significant environmental plasticity. It is found in diverse habitats ranging from coastal dunes and forest margins to high-altitude mountain slopes.
