Description

Important note: Dictyoglomus thermophilum is not a plant disease. It is a thermophilic bacterium found primarily in hot springs and geothermal environments. It does not infect or cause any type of disease in agricultural or wild plant species.

The organism acts as a decomposer in specialized extreme environments. It is an obligate anaerobe that thrives in high-temperature settings. It has no biological mechanisms to penetrate plant cuticles or interact with the vascular systems of crops, making it irrelevant to phytopathology.

No agricultural crops are susceptible to this organism. As it is not a pathogen, there are no symptoms or signs of infection such as wilting, necrosis, or chlorosis associated with Dictyoglomus thermophilum. Observations of plant health in relation to this bacterium are non-existent in professional agronomy.

Development and spread are strictly tied to geothermal conditions. The temperatures required for the growth of D. thermophilum (typically 65-70°C) far exceed the thermal tolerance of agricultural plants. Therefore, it cannot survive or propagate within standard farming systems or greenhouse environments.

There is no economic harm or threat to crop production. Because it is not a plant pathogen, no protective measures, fungicides, or sanitary protocols are required. It should be classified as a non-pathogenic environmental bacterium.
