The type of disease typically associated with this organism involves localized tissue degradation. The pathogen utilizes extracellular enzymes to break down plant cell walls, leading to the liquefaction of tissues. This process is particularly detrimental during the maturation phase of fruits and vegetables, significantly affecting the yield and quality of the harvest.
