The host range for this disease includes various vegetable crops and select greenhouse ornamentals. Plants infected with this bacterium often exhibit a decline in vigor, as the pathogen multiplies within the intercellular spaces and vascular bundles. Insects feeding on host plants also play a critical role as secondary dispersal agents.
