Paraburkholderia soli is a soil-inhabiting bacterium that can act as a plant pathogen under specific environmental conditions. It belongs to the Burkholderiaceae family and is primarily associated with the rhizosphere, where it can interfere with nutrient uptake and stunt overall plant vigor.

The pathogen affects a variety of agricultural and horticultural crops. It primarily attacks the root system, entering the plant tissues through wounds caused by agricultural tools, soil compaction, or feeding by soil-dwelling insects and nematodes.

Common symptoms of infection include stunted growth, leaf chlorosis, and the formation of necrotic lesions on the roots.
