The primary host for this disease is sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum). By disrupting the vascular system and physiological processes of the plant, the pathogen causes significant stunting, reduced biomass production, and a noticeable decrease in sugar content, which directly affects the economic viability of the agricultural operation.
