Description
Sour cherry "Femida" is a medium-sized tree with a round, spreading canopy of medium density and slightly raised skeleton branches. The tree begins fruiting in the 3rd-4th year after planting, reaching a height of about five meters. The canopy is characterized by upright shoots of reddish-brown color, while the leaves are wide oval, smooth and matte.
The fruits of the "Femida" variety are large (average weight 38 g), oval or ovoid, dark burgundy or almost black in color. They ripen in the second decade of July, while the pulp is yellow, tender, medium juicy and homogenous with a pleasant sour-sweet taste (4.5 points). The fruits are well transportable and suitable for the production of high-quality compotes, jams, confitures and juices.
The variety is characterized by high stable yields – more than 20 t/ha, disease resistance and medium winter hardiness. Requires pollinator variety grafting and is recommended for growing in southern regions on loam, podzolic soils or chernozems. "Femida" ensures a reliable harvest and high fruit quality, making it a popular choice for fruit orchards.
