AURORA KRYMSKAYA

The Aurora Krymskaya apple variety is a winter variety developed at the Crimea Experimental Station of Horticulture. This variety was obtained from free pollination of the Banan zimniy variety and is characterized by a medium-sized tree with a wide pyramidal crown of medium density. The leaves are large, dark green, oval or egg-shaped, and the branches branch off from the trunk at an angle close to a right angle. The tree is early-bearing, beginning to bear fruit as early as 2-3 years after planting, and fruits annually. The variety has medium yield and good winter hardiness, as well as medium resistance to fungal diseases. Aurora Krymskaya fruits are large, rounded-conical in shape, weighing from 150 to 210 grams. The main apple color is greenish-yellow with a blurred red blush covering most of the fruit surface. The flesh is greenish-creamy, dense, juicy, and aromatic, with a sour-sweet taste, making the fruits versatile in use. Apples are distinguished by their high taste qualities and retain their properties during long-term storage. Fruit maturity occurs in early October, and when stored in a refrigerator, apples can last up to 170-180 days, sometimes until May, without losing flavor and without being affected by russeting. The fruiting type of the variety is mixed, which contributes to a stable yield. For pollination, the varieties Renet Simirenko, Golden Delicious, and Banan zimniy are recommended, which ensures good fruit setting and high-quality yield.
