BARNAUL EARLY

The 'Barnaul Early' apple variety is a summer variety of universal purpose, bred at the Siberian Institute of Horticulture. The tree is medium-sized, with a compact oval crown of medium density, characterized by slow growth and good recovery ability. Fruit bearing begins in the third to fourth year after planting, with average yield. The variety has medium winter hardiness but high resistance to scab, making it suitable for growing in Siberian conditions. The fruits of the 'Barnaul Early' apple tree have an average mass of about 46 grams, with a maximum mass reaching 90 grams. They are flat-round, of regular shape, with a main light-yellow coloration that appears as stripes through a blurred orange-red blush. The flesh is creamy, coarse-grained, juicy, with a good acidic-sweet taste and aroma. Fruits ripen from late July to mid-August and can be stored for 30-45 days, allowing them to be used fresh for a limited period. The chemical composition of the fruits is characterized by a high sugar content (about 14.7%), titratable acids (1.2%), ascorbic acid (8.0 mg per 100 g), and especially vitamin P (346 mg per 100 g), which gives the apples beneficial properties and a rich taste. The variety is suitable for fresh consumption and can also be used for preparing various dishes and preserves. Due to its qualities and adaptability to the climate, 'Barnaul Early' is a popular choice among gardeners in regions with harsh winters.
