Description
Winter variety selected at Dubovsky Selection Station for fruit crops of NIVIIS, obtained by hybridization of hybrid No. 42 (Lithuanian Pepin x Snowy Calville) x Renet Simirenko. Breeders: V. A. Korenev, R. V. Korenev, L. K. Zhukova.
Medium-growing tree with a round, dense, slightly elevated crown, good branching and leafing capacity.
Branches pubescent, light green, leaves medium length with a curved base, almost not folded, serrated with a saw-toothed edge, long petioles, medium thickness, with small lanceolate stipules.
Medium-sized fruits, uniform, round, average weight 118 g, up to 140 g with sufficient moisture. Main color at harvest is green, with a cloudy pink blush. During storage, fruits turn golden-yellow with a bright, diffuse raspberry-red blush on most of the fruit. The peduncle is medium, deeply inserted into the fruit.
Flesh is dense, yellow-green, fine-grained, slightly acidic-sweet with strong aroma, excellent taste. Contains: 17.5% dry matter, 10.1% sugars, 0.7% titratable acids, and 13.8 mg/100g ascorbic acid.
Harvest ripeness occurs at the end of September. Storage capacity — 150-180 days at ±1°C.
Partially self-fertile. Best pollinators: Northern sainfoin, Lithuanian Pepin, Golden Kursk Renet.
Trees begin fruiting on the 3rd-4th year after planting as one-year seedlings. High yield: under normal conditions, average multi-year yields reach 180 centners/ha and more.
Fruits remain well on the tree until harvest. Cold resistance is good. The variety is slightly damaged by fruit moth, resistant to diseases. Moderately resistant to powdery mildew.
Advantages of the variety: high yield, high commercial and consumer qualities of fruits, long storage period, low, easy-to-handle trees.
Disadvantages of the variety: tendency towards periodic fruiting, fruits susceptible to fruit rot during storage.
