Gold spur

The Gold Spur apple tree is a medium-late winter variety characterized by its compact mature tree size — reaching about 2.5 meters in height, with a spur-type crown that simplifies care and harvesting. The tree begins fruiting from the sixth year onward, yielding an average of about 70 kg per tree per season. Young shoots have a dark red hue, and the leaves are broad and egg-shaped.

The fruits of the Gold Spur apple are large, weighing up to 180 grams, conical, and slightly irregular in shape. The fruit skin is dense and smooth, with a noticeable bloom and frequent gray speckles. Fruit color varies: red on the sunny side, and light yellow or greenish-salad on the shaded side. The flesh is light, finely textured, juicy, with an excellent sweet flavor and mild tart notes. The fruits adhere well to branches and can be stored for 5–8 months, allowing for extended use after harvest.

This variety exhibits good resistance to diseases and drought, although its winter hardiness is average. For successful cultivation, moderate watering and good sunlight exposure are required. Due to its characteristics and fruit quality, this variety is ideal for garden cultivation and provides a steady, high-quality harvest.
